The Best Foundation Brush and the Secret to Getting it Super Clean!

Today’s blog post is two-fold, the first part is how you can get your foundation to have that airbrushed perfect finish at home. The second part is about the super exciting way to clean your brushes (it’s the little things in life, right?).

The foundation brush used and how you apply your foundation can make all the difference. You want your face and skin to appear smooth, flawless, and like you aren’t even wearing makeup. A flat-top foundation brush will make all the difference when you are looking to achieve that airbrushed look!

There are a few different brush options you can choose from depending on what style is your preference, and when I say style I mean the style of the handle. This is a personal choice where you can find what feels the most comfortable for your personal use.

Any foundation or tinted moisturizer can be used with these foundation brushes to give that flawless appearance (read on for my faves) by applying the foundation directly to the brush and slowly applying the makeup to the face in a small gentle circular motion. It’s that easy, and you’ll notice the difference in the way the texture of your skin looks immediately.

There is a foundation for every day and every occasion and with the right foundation brush, each option above or your own favorite will look as flawless and fabulous as the next!

The other key to keeping your complexion looking amazing is a clean foundation brush free of build-up, germs, and excessive makeup. This is my favorite way to clean my makeup brushes, and it’s inexpensive and easy! All you need is some DAWN dish detergent, water, and a towel.

Simply put the Dawn dish detergent in the palm of your hand, swirl your brush around in the soap, rinse a little, swirl some more, and keep rinsing and swirling until your brush is completely makeup-free. Then lay flat to dry on a towel. Laying your brushes flat to dry is especially important, as you don’t want the water to drip down and loosen the glue holding the bristles in place on the internal part of the brush handle.

Your brushes will look brand new again!!!! It’s the best brush cleaning trick ever and you can clean all your makeup brushes this way, not just your foundation brushes. Definitely try it on your brushes if you have any gunked-up ones you need to clean.

Peace, Love, Flawless skin, and clean makeup brushes,

XX,

Jenna
