Tales of a Recovering Hair Neurotic

To say that I am neurotic about my hair would be an understatement. I always have been, and to a certain extent I probably always will be! This Covid-19 situation has given me a great deal of peace in regard to my usual craziness around my beauty routines, but my hair will always be something I obsess over, but hopefully on a much smaller scale.
If you have followed me or read my blogs you probably already know about all the trauma my hair has experienced over the last 2 years, and I’m cautiously optimistic that I’m heading in the right direction with what I am doing to re-grow my hair and return it to its previously healthy, and full state. I happen to have a lot of hair, which is great, however, the texture of my hair is very fine. It just is, and so I may always want to wear some form of hair extensions to keep it looking full and amazing, but it would be nice to feel like I didn’t “have” to.
So as I was showering today with my 5-minute timer going waiting for my shampoo to penetrate my scalp and remove the DHT, I thought it would be fun to share all the crazy things I do to keep my hair healthy and get it to grow back long and strong.
But I also am curious what all the other HMF’s do to keep their hair strong, healthy, and growing! So please share away and I’ll do a follow-up blog to share everyone’s tips and tricks!
But in the meantime, here is what I do:
Zenagen Shampoo and Conditioner – I swear by these products! I have no affiliation except that I love them and believe in it and have been fortunate enough to benefit from many hours of educational classes that they provide.
Zenagen Boost – this is a scalp treatment that does exactly what it says, it gives your hair regrowth a boost.
Hair Growing Vitamins
Biotin supplements
Biosil supplements
Silk Pillowcases - to avoid damage and lock in moisture
Bamboo hair towels – to avoid too much friction to the hair
Heat styling only when completely necessary
Diamond Botox treatments
Weekly bond-building deep conditioning treatments
Phytoprotein spray – once a week-ish
So, if you had any doubts about my crazy hair care routine, before reading this you are probably shaking your head right now! My stylist recently told me to relax and not worry so much and it will take care of itself.
Following her advice, I am taking deep breaths and feeling confident that someday soon all of my hair will go into a ponytail all at once and I’ll have strong beautiful hair that is accentuated by hair extensions rather than dependent on them.
Until then…
PEACE. LOVE, and HEALTHY HAIR GROWTH
XX,
Jenna
