Hip Hip Hurray! The Original HMF is live! Now, what can you expect?
The Original HMF website will be your beauty resource, focusing on Hair, Skin, Makeup, Nails, and the High Maintenance Lifestyle. This will be your beauty resource for HONEST reviews, tips, and tricks. If something is amazing I’ll be telling you all about it, and if something is not worth your time, money, and energy (investment) I’ll be dishing on that as well. I started my hair extension business because I hated wasting money on products that were not worth my time or money and I didn’t want anyone else to have the same frustration and disappointment and now this whole website is devoted to just that! Teaching, educating, and helping other High Maintenance Females make the right beauty investments so they can feel their best selves.
So I’ll be writing honest reviews on products, treatments, and even medical procedures. I’ll show you everything from start to finish, why I’m trying it, how it looks and feels, what the recovery or treatment process is like, what to expect, and what to watch out for. You’ll see it all, and if you hop over to my Instagram page you can even ask me about things in real-time to get the answers to all your questions.
What is this HMF you speak of?
If you don’t know yet what an HMF is, it’s a High Maintenance Female, and it isn’t anything like what you think it is, because it’s ME! There’s a pretty good chance you don’t know me, unless you do IRL, but even then, you probably don’t really KNOW me, because I am full of surprises!
I previously published a blog about what an HMF is, it talks about being confident and empowered. This is the foundation for this blog, but contrary to what you are thinking…my confidence doesn’t come from my super cute outfit, and my empowerment doesn’t come from my fancy…well anything, it comes from WITHIN!!!!!! But the thing about that is, while it’s something we all come into this world with, life sort of has a way beating it out of you. Good News is…you can totally work on it, bad news…you gotta put in the work! If it isn’t something you have struggled with and had to work, well more power to you!
While all the THINGS are nice, and fun, and can momentarily make us happy, they aren’t the core, the foundation, most important part. They are the icing and let’s be honest sprinkles on a very pink and sparkly cake! Oh, and the cake is also probably a unicorn!
Here’s the thing about me… I’m quite the dichotomy. This one time I went to this dive shop right… and the owner starts talking to me about this new mask and getting out in the water and I’m super excited, pumped even. Then I tell him well we need to find another day because I don’t like to get my hair wet unless it’s a “hair washing” day.
Thank goodness I was with my best friend and not my husband because he would have walked out, after the palm to face gesture. My bff just laugh because what can I say, she knows and loves me for who I am! To which Dive Master responses, “You are very complicated.” Guess what! He’s right!
Am I super glam and girly? YES! Am I, lazy and unorganized and easily distracted? YES! Am I, happiest at the beach in the water floating? YES! Do I shop a lot? YES! Do I read a lot? YES! Am I a huge Howard Stern fan? YES! Do I meditate every day? Most Days! AM I completely ridiculous! YES! Am I a vegan? YES! Do I wish I could sit on the beach and play a ukulele every day? Hell YES! Do I get my lashes done every other week? YES! Do I work with a consciousness coach? YES! Does my dog have a better wardrobe than most people? YES!
See what I mean, and that was just scratching the surface. So, what will the THE ORIGINAL HMF blog be about, it will be about everything beauty having to do with me living my High Maintenance life. You’ll get a little bit of everything from beauty products, treatments, and medical procedures, hair, makeup, nails, skincare, health, wellness, and mom stuff. It’s going to be AWESOME!
So, all that being said…
Yes, I am a HMF! I do crazy, outrageous, over-the-top, silly, ridiculous things and because of my self confidence I’m not only okay with it, I don’t care what anyone else thinks about it. I may look well put together on the outside and enjoy all the pretty things, but I don’t take myself too seriously.
My happiness comes from within and my inner peace is well earned. The most important thing to me is to be a good person, help others, be happy, enjoy life, and work every single day, so I can be a better version of myself tomorrow. So all the other fun and sparkly, pink, luxuries is just icing on the cake of life.
So if you enjoy all the glam and fun and don’t take your life too seriously, if you have many layers to you, if you are looking to add another layer to your cake of life, follow along for the magical HMF moments to come. Together we will explore fun and frivolous things and maybe even some deep and meaningful things too because life is too short not to be happy and have fun!
